Proper Maintenance
Our CNC press brakes are regularly maintained, machinery and tooling are kept up to date to best industry standard and replaced as necessary to keep us at the forefront of custom sheet metal fabrication and provide our customers with cost-effective quality formed sheet metal parts.
Customized Software
Using software programming, CNC sheet metal press brakes and precision tooling that allow quick setup changes, and some of the highest RAM speeds and multi-axis bank gauges, reduce our costs and delivery times.
BAYVIEW METALS SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT LINES
Our fully loaded state-of-the-art servo-electric drive press brake greatly reduces setup time, improves repeatability and quality, while reducing energy consumption. The crowning system provides consistent dimension and angle across the entire bed of the machine, bend angle inspection system, and offline programming for accuracy and repeatability.
All pieces within our equipment line carry a full inventory of hardened, precision ground tooling for maximum accuracy, and repeatability. The many different segmented die styles allow the forming of complex shapes and angle bends. We also machine tooling in-house to provide for more complex bending and relief for hardware.

CNC PRESS BRAKE FORMING FAQs
What is a CNC press brake machine?
A press brake is a machine that is used to form bends in sheet metal parts. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. This means that the machine is controlled through software programming, and PLC controllers to provide the highest level of repeatability, and all variables are controlled through the computer of the machine, rather than manually, such as pressure, back gauge settings, die selection etc…
How does a press brake work?
A press brake works by clamping sheet metal between various punches and dies. This forms the required bends in the material. Backguages determine the sizes of the bends. The RAM, punches, and dies determine the angles and radius of the bends. CNC press brakes allow the controllers to perform most of the calculations required to do this process accurately and efficiently.
What material thicknesses do you form up to?
Bayview Metals forms sheet metal of various types up to 0.187” thick. We regularly produce parts from cold rolled steel, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, satin coat steel or zinc-iron alloy (galvanneal), etc.

How does your press brake forming process benefit your customers?
Bayview Metals uses CAD/CAM programming, highly skilled operators, the best quality efficient machinery with the most “smart” options available, express clamping, precision ground tooling, and consistent material. Controlling these variables ensures excellent quality formed parts, delivered on time, at a competitive price.
What is your working tolerance with CNC press brake forming?
We maintain a highly repeatable working tolerance of 0.005” during our press brake forming process.
What is Bed Crowning?
Bend crowning compensates for machine deflection. This is a feature built into high quality press brakes to provide consistent pressure and bend angle along the length of the bed.
